40 Years in 40 Days. Our History! 1988: 1st Change of Logo.
In 1988, The Society of The Golden Keys of Canada (Les Clefs d’Or Canada) decided it was time to change their logo. The new logo was very «modern» and introduced the words: Les Clefs d’Or, on the logo for the first time.

40 Years in 40 Days – Day 10: 1987, Mr. Warren Anderson, our 3rd President!
In 1987, one of the original six Founding Members, Mr. Warren Anderson, Chef-Concierge at the Four Seasons Toronto, was elected President of Les Clefs d’Or Canada. He became our 3rd President and remained in office for four years.

Les Clefs d’Or Canada’s 40th Anniversary Celebrations. Day 9 – 1982: Our first member in Vancouver! (UPDATED)
In 1982 (not 1986 as previously stated!), after having settled in Toronto, Montreal and Ottawa, Les Clefs d’Or Canada were eager and motivated to continue their progression across the country and were extremely happy to welcome their first Member from the city of Vancouver, Ms. Evelyne Rothig, Chef-Concierge at the Four Seasons Vancouver!

40 Years in 40 Days: Day 8 – 1985, James Burnham becomes the 2nd President of Les Clefs d’Or Canada.
In 1985, following Herb Goldring’s retirement after a 9 year stint as Les Clefs d’Or Canada President, Mr. James Burnham was elected President. He became the 2nd President in LCDC’s history.

40 Years in 40 Days – Day 7: 1984, Québec Region elects its 1st President, Manny Cheng.
In 1984, the newly formed Montreal Region, then known as the Quebec Region, elected it’s first ever Regional President, Mr. Manny Cheng, who was Chef-Concierge at the Four Seasons Hotel Montreal. Today, Les Clefs d’Or Canada has 7 Regions and the title of Regional President has changed to Director.

40 Years in 40 Days, The History of Les Clefs d’Or Canada. Day 6: 1983, Québec (Montréal) becomes the 2nd Region!
1983 marked the first expansion of Les Clefs d’Or Canada outside of Toronto when the Quebec Province (In fact, the city of Montréal), became the 2nd Region of our association.

1981, Liloo Alim, First Woman Member – 40 Years of Les Clefs d’Or History in 40 Days. Day #5
In 1981 most concierges were men. In fact, all Les Clefs d’Or Concierges in Canada were men. Then came Liloo Alim, Chef-Concierge at the Four Seasons Ottawa at the time, unanimously voted in by her peers to become the first lady to join the Les Clefs d’Or Canada association.

In September 1975, 6 Concierges from 6 of the best hotels in Toronto decided to create the Association Les Clefs d’Or Canada and met for the first time, at the Rothman’s Car Museum, to discuss various subjects pertaining to Les Clefs d’Or and to the Concierge profession.
