Dear Members and Friends,
On March 7th the Canadian National Board arrived in Montreal for two days of meetings leading into what would become an INCREDIBLY MEMORABLE 19th Pan-American Congress. Our seven united regions focused on collaboration as we tackled new and old challenges, prepared to legally register our Association as Not for Profit and lead the country into celebrations of our 40th Anniversary!
The Montreal Region, lead by our passionate Congress Chairperson, Chanel Mongeon, left all of us in attendance (including our International President, Colin Toomey and General Secretary, James Ridenour), absolutely thrilled with the flawless execution of their program. They asked “Voulez-Vous Montreal?” … and they certainly delivered! From the Opening Night reception to the Sugar Shack to the Dine Around in Montreal’s top restaurants and the impressive Gala in historic Windsor Station, each event completely surpassed our expectations. I am sure that never has there been a better looking and more impressive Tradeshow – goodness, the committee left zero room for improvement on so many levels!
Our outstanding Educational symposium comprised of this past year’s research by Trevor Botkin of Think8, showcased a day full of tools to share with our GM’s, supporting our value in our hotel lobbies. To add to it all, our Canadian meetings were held in the Caf’Conc, the room where the gala of the second ever National Congress was held in 1991, in the presence of legend, Jean Gillet; onstage in one of the most beautiful historical vaudeville theatres in Canada, WOW!
It was truly a FANTASTIC congress and a wonderful way to celebrate our fabulous 40 years of growth in Canada. I am sure I am joined by the other 90 Canadians who attended with an absolute heartfelt Thank You to our congress committee for truly making Canada shine!
Of course as we close the successful books on this 19th Pan-American congress, we would like to thank our sponsors and supporters who ensured we were set up for absolute success. Thank you to USA President, Robert Marks, for his incredible generosity; Mexico’s President, Arturo Ortiz Jimenez, for his warm support; Argentina President, Pablo Castro, for his contribution; and Brazil President, Guilherme Salgueiro Borges, for his encouragement. Finally, a heartfelt thank you to our Zone Director, Shujaat Khan, for his guidance, ensuring that, at our congress, the American Zone truly embraced our exceptional moto In Service Through Friendship.
We are looking forward to seeing all of you again in sunny Buenos Aires in 2018.
Vive Les Clefs d’Or.
