Les Clefs d’Or Canada’s 12th National Congress Banff was an opportunity of a lifetime. The congress brought together over 100 Les Clefs d’Or Concierges from coast to coast. The Majestic Fairmont Banff Springs hosted all of these professionals and the sponsors who made this congress possible.
Les Clefs d’Or Alberta Region went above and beyond to give us the best experience. Every detail was covered from the moment we arrived at the airport and were greeted by our lovely concierge Jill Marven from the Fairmont Palliser Hotel who escorted us to the Banff Airporter. Upon arrival at the Fairmont Banff Springs, we were welcomed in our rooms with detailed welcome bags that contained information on the congress, gifts, treats, maple syrup, macaroons, fudge and a gift from Park Distillery.
The week was filled with many unforgettable memories; the welcoming reception, educational sessions, Banff Gondola, outdoor activities, bowling at High Rollers, the Annual General Meeting and our Gala Night.
We had the pleasure of connecting with many wonderful motivational speakers on Day 2 of our Educational breakout sessions.
Elisabeth Fayt, an international inspirational speaker, bestselling author of the book “Paving it forward”, and Owner/Founder of the Canadian Spa RnR Wellness, located in two of Calgary’s premier downtown hotels; Fairmont Palliser and Le Germain Hotel Calgary.

The Educational interactive workshop inspired us to use proven techniques to help us reap greater abundance and gain conscious control of our destiny. “When you change the way you look at things… the things you look at change” – Wayne Dyer.
Ms. Fayt used her book “Paving it Forward” to illustrate the importance of consciously choosing how you want to live and feel through every part of your day. Things like choosing what you are going to wear in the morning should become secondary to what truly is important. Connecting with people, knowing how you feel or what you will accomplish is what matters the most. We have to Pre-Pave it forward and line up the energy to create what we want. Setting our day with positive intentions can make us prepare and face what life brings ahead of us. We are living in the moment and that translates into being able to do our job efficiently and enjoy it at its fullest!

The mind is one of the most powerful parts of the body which makes our thoughts rule most of our actions and decisions. By having our thoughts control most of what we do, we should drive them by positivity. As author Ms. Fayt mentioned, “It is believed that 80% of our thoughts are negative” which confirms that we need to stop living a default mechanical life and do things differently to improve the way we see life.

As concierges, we are passionate about what we do; we are always ON and never OFF. Our job is to make sure our guests are taken care of and to turn moments into memories. Therefore, the practice of starting up our day with positive intentions is a great way to promote personal goals and fill ourselves with self- encouragement.
We were provided with journals by Ms. Fayt so we could practice to be “Awake and ready” and consciously intend our day. This is believed to develop a different approach in our daily tasks and has an overall positive perspective.

What do you practice? -Pearls of Wisdom by the great guide Prem Rawat- Maharaji
The following video was created by Ali Sherazi and his wife. They would listen to Prem Rawat and many other guides in hope of learning something about themselves and maybe becoming a better citizen of this world. Ali, their son, would watch videos and hear them talk about the idea a few times, he would memorize it! Ali, wanted to make this video to share with his friends he left behind in Irvine, CA.
I choose to start practicing more positive traits that will impact my happiness, with positive actions and thoughts. This could be the best way to continue paving it forward.
