Please meet Chanel Mongeon – Chef-concierge @Marriott Château Champlain
Looking for a strong, independent female role model ? Search no more, Chanel Mongeon is the ultimate Wonder Woman behind les Clefs d’Or Montreal !
If you would have hopped on the Amphibus, Montreal’s duck tour, in the early years of 2000, chances are the lady behind the microphone was a young Chanel. A passionate guide embracing her new found calling : the love of her city and the rewarding feeling to share it with the visitors from all over the world. She then moved to her true home, the Marriott Château Champlain where she climbed the ladder up to her proudest milestone in her career, the pristine chef concierge position.
Not only she is at the head of the biggest concierge team in Montreal, but she also is completely involved as head of department within her hotel and finds time to particpate in christmas party organization and social media. When she clocks out of the hotel, it rarely means her duties are over; She is part of Tourisme Montreal’s welcome committee and on the board of Montreal’s taxi association and that is excluding all her involvment with the Clefs d’Or Association. Last year, she won the Prix Ulysse, tourism award, in the « Ressources, employés de première ligne, Accueil» category.
From the beginning of her carreer, Chanel wasted no time. She has been on the Les Clefs d’Or Canada – Montreal Region board since 2009, the year she received her keys. She held the title of Secretary for three years, then Vice-director and Director until 2017. She is the mentor behind the School Outreach program and partner with College Lafleche, College Lasalle and Cégep Montmorency. Recently, she was working hard as Chairwoman for the 2016 Montreal Panamerican congress, her biggest challenge so far.
