Welcome to the Celebration of Les Clefs d’Or Canada‘s 40th Anniversary. To highlight our 40th, we offer you «40 Years in 40 Days». Today, Day 1, we go back to 1976, on November 8th, Les Clefs d’Or Canada is accepted as the 18th Section of Les Clefs d’Or – UICH (Union Internationale des Concierges d’Hôtels) during the General Assembly of the International Congress, held in Lisbon, Portugal.
Translation: Following on the agenda is the admission of Canada as the 18th section of U.I.P.G.H.*
The General Secretary notifies that everything is in order in the Canada file. The Paris office having received the composition of the section as well as its statutes and that, the number of Clefs d’Or in Canada being actually of nineteen, the only thing left is for the assembly to approve the decision of the Executive Committee to accept Canada as 18th section U.I.P.G.H.
The assembly warmly applauds the birth of this new section and International President Molero calls to the Presidents’ table, Mr. Herb Goldring, President of Les Clefs d’Or Canada, inviting him to sit next to him, as being now a part of the Executive Committee. He congratulates Mr. Goldring for the great work achieved in Canada and for the spirit that motivates our colleagues from overseas.
President Goldring thanks the Executive Committee and the Assembly for the admission of Canada into U.I.P.G.H., reaffirming that his utmost goal is to expand the section and to include the city of Montreal.
* U.I.P.G.H. is Union Internationale des Portiers des Grands Hôtels, which was the former name of Les Clefs d’Or -UICH.
