Please meet Sherine Sutherland, Chef Concierge @InterContinental Toronto Centre and Regional Treasurer Ontario @LesClefsd’OrCAN @InterContinental Hotels & Resorts @IHG – InterContinental Hotels Group @Toronto Entertainment District #TorontoConcierge #travel #TourismToronto
When you enter the upscale InterContinental Toronto Centre Hotel, it doesn’t take long to see Sherine’s contagious smile across the lobby. I’m here to take a picture for the new LesClefsd’OrOntario Social Media Committee. The calm and confidence that she exudes is impressive…
Originally from Spanish Town Jamaica, Sherine had never really thought of becoming a concierge when she started her diploma in Travel & Tourism. After graduating from Humber College, she began her hospitality career as a concierge in 2000 at the InterContinental Toronto Centre. Spending almost a decade honing her skills and knowledge of the beautiful city of Toronto, Ontario, Sherine’s dedication to service earned her Employee of the Year in 2010. Two years later, she was promoted Chef Concierge and received a tremendous recognition: she became the first recipient of the Greater Toronto Hotel Association‘s Concierge of the Year award.

Outside of tirelessly organizing, recommending and assisting visitors to Toronto every day, Sherine is able to accomplish everything from securing those “impossible-to-get” dinner reservations to applying for a Brazilian visa for a guest who had just called her while en route to Toronto and who apparently wouldn’t have time to do it himself!
Sherine has volunteered her time in coordinating events for Covenant House International and participated in charity walks for The Princess Margaret Hospital.
In 2009, she started her journey to become a member of the prestigious international concierge association, Les Clefs d’Or Canada. Since then, she has been very involved within the association and she is currently serving a successful first term as the Regional Treasurer of Ontario.
