Great news for Les Clefs d’Or Canada’s Atlantic Region; The Sutton Place Halifax just opened and they have a Clefs d’Or Concierge at the desk!
James Robar, originally a member of the Atlantic Region, is back home after spending a few years in the city of Toronto.

The news of the opening was announced in this memo from Mr. Robert Pratt, President of the Sutton Place Hotels.
Also joining James to help with the opening team is Miguel Knudson, Senior Concierge at the Sutton Place Hotel Vancouver, a member of Les Clefs d’Or Canada for more than 25 years.
Our President, Don Mooney, was very pleased to comment on the new opening and James’ return to Atlantic:
“Congratulations to The Sutton Place Halifax on opening their doors on September 8th. We are pleased to recognize James Robar, who returns to Halifax where he first earned his golden keys. James was a founding member of our Atlantic Region, this came in 2009 as we completed our goal of having members from coast to coast.
From James’ time in Toronto working as Concierge, he will bring much experience and leadership back to his beloved province.
On another personal note, I wish to congratulate the General Manager, Mark Schaay, for opening of the hotel during these tumultuous times in tourism. It takes great leadership to open a luxury hotel under any conditions, never mind with having to open under the umbrella of the Covid-19 pandemic. We are especially happy for Mark as he was a member of Les Clefs d’Or Canada, and I had the personal pleasure of serving with him on the Alberta Regional Board.
