There is no better way to start off the holiday season than with the presentation of Les Clefs d’Or keys to new members.  This spectacular event took place on November 29th, 2016. Our gracious host, The Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel, was decorated for the holidays and provided the warm and approachable ambiance that we, as concierges, provide to our guests daily.

Our amazing sponsors Where Magazine, Park Distillery, South by Southwest Wines, Fairmont Corporate and Oxford Properties contributed to a very merry evening and their support was highly appreciated.  We celebrated the Silver Service award for the Restaurants of the year which were Sabor (Edmonton)  Hy’s Steakhouse (Calgary) and Balkan Greek Restaurant (Banff).

The highlight of the evening was celebrating our three new Les Clefs d’Or Canada members in the Alberta Region, Anna Rafaelovna from Edmonton, the Fairmont Hotel MacDonald; Benjamin Phillips from Calgary, the Hotel Germain; and Affiliate Grant Fraser from Calgary, Oxford Properties.

We were also very proud to award honorary membership to David Roberts, Regional Vice President, Canada’s Western Mountain Region & General Manager, The Fairmont Banff Springs.  Unique to our region, we celebrated our “Concierge of the Year” award with a framed picture of Boy with Apple to Cindy Stewart from The Calgary Westin Hotel.  Also, this was our first year honoring our Hospitality Heroes in Calgary, Sean Horvath, Ambassador Limo, and in Banff, Stephanie Quaiser, Brewster Travel, that help provide our guests with an amazing experience each time we call on them!

We were lucky enough to have Andrea Torrance, Vice President, Operations Support, North & Central America, Fairmont Hotels & Resorts as well as many supporting hotel General Managers in attendance, including Mayor Karen Sorensen of Banff.  As well there were local restaurants and businesses that have supported us throughout the year.

It is our guests and colleagues attending the event that make it the grand event is has grown into over the last few years.
