In 1997, Ian Shulman, who was Chef Concierge, Crown Club at the King Edward Hotel Toronto, was elected as the 5th President of Les Clefs d’Or Canada. His election took place during a Pan-American Congress on a cruise ship, in Acapulco!
Ian spent 10 years on the Executive Board of LCDC, as Secretary, President and Past-President.
The 1997 Board was completed by Vice-President Anne McKenna, from Le Château Frontenac, Québec City (Now a Fairmont hotel); Treasurer Alain Larouche, who was from Hôtel de la Montagne, Montréal and by Alison DuMont-Wedekind, who was from the Empress Victoria (Also a Fairmont now).
Ian Shulman is now General Manager at The Oban Inn, Restaurant and Spa.
