Jeffrey Cobrana, Lead Concierge at the Hyatt Regency Calgary, is the recipient of the 2015 White Hat Award for Best Concierge in Calgary!

Jeff has been a Concierge at the Hyatt Regency Calgary for 4 years and a Member of Les Clefs d’Or Canada for 2 years. His career path followed his passion in travel and tourism which is how he ended up working at the concierge desk.

The one thing he loves most about being a concierge is that it is up to him to make things happen. Regardless of how challenging the requests may be, Jeff is ready to exceed their expectations. Knowing where to go and the best places to dine are all part of the experience that Jeff offers to his guests. The greatest reward for Jeff is the big smile and thank you from the guest that lets him know he went above and beyond.

One special request that Jeff handled was from a gentleman planning a wedding proposal. He wanted his girlfriend to experience the royal treatment. Jeff arranged everything from the suite, decorations and a china tea set for afternoon tea. He even dressed up and acted as the paparazzi taking photos of the ‘royal’ couple. Of course, she said yes! This is one example of what Jeff will do to create a memorable experience with his guests.
The amazing recognition that Jeff receives on a regular basis from his guests only confirms why he was selected as the recipient of the 2015 White Hat for Best Concierge in Calgary.

The White Hat Awards celebrate customer service excellence in Calgary. The awards are hosted and presented by Tourism Calgary. The winners are our ambassadors to the city and it is a highly regarded award. There are over 800 nominees that have been put forward in a variety of categories in the hospitality field. These are people that have gone above and beyond to help create an amazing experience for people visiting our city.

Once nominated, every candidate must appear before a 2-person interview panel to answer a variety of questions and, from there, the truly exceptional individuals will become finalists in their category. It is like the academy awards of the Calgary hospitality industry! It is a very exciting evening and an honor to win.

We are all very proud of Jeffrey and all that he has done! He represents us very well.
