Véronique Bourgeault, concierge at the Montreal Marriott Château Champlain and 2015 Andy Pongco Award Nominee for Canada.
Les Clefs d’Or Canada is proud to announce that Véronique Bourgeault, concierge at the Marriott Château Champlain Montreal, has been selected to be the 2015 Andy Pongco Award Nominee. She will represent Canada at the prestigious competition held during the UICH International Congress in Mendoza, Argentina, in April 2015.
Véronique, who was recently named Secretary for the Montreal Region, has been a member of Les Clefs d’Or for merely one year and a concierge for 4 years. She describes herself in her motivation letter as a natural leader, an organizer and a person who can unite people. She is eager to meet concierges from around the world to make connections and exchange ideas. She plans to work her way up the executive ladder of Les Clefs d’Or to help our association grow and improve. With her energy, passion and creativity, who knows how far she will go?!
The Andy Pongco Award was created in 2008 to honour the memory of Andy Pongco (an international honorary president), by recognizing and encouraging young members who have the flair, the skills and talent to become true ambassadors of UICH Les Clefs d’Or, to become active participants in our global network. Each section (Country) may present a candidate who must be a Les Clefs d’Or member, under 35 years of age, fluent in English and who will be attending an International Congress for the first time.
Following a challenging exam testing their general knowledge, the candidates must write a few essays to describe their qualities and motivations, before appearing in front of a panel of executives, who will make the final evaluation of the candidates and select a winner.
The previous winners of the Andy Pongco Award are:
– James Elliott, United Kingdom
– Anna Endrihovskaia, Russia
– Matthew Wu, Canada
– Anabella Peling, Argentina
– Ben Malpass, United Kingdom
– Christophe Caron, France
– Tony Chan, Chinese Taipei
We are convinced that Véronique will make us proud in Mendoza and we would like to wish her the best of luck for the competition. Go Véro!
