1977: Not much more than a year after its creation, this new Hotel Concierges association, Les Clefs d’Or Canada, had already grown to 20 members. 18 Members were from Toronto but the expansion to the East had already started with one member, Mr. Denis Laganierre, Chef concierge at the Ritz-Carlton Montreal, being from Montreal, while Mr. Joe Wilson, from the Westbury in London, was an Honorary Member.
Funny to notice, when you look at the Executive Committee titles, that the Secretary had an assistant, there was a Social Director, an assistant Social Director, a Public Relations Director and an assistant Public Relations Director!… It seems that our founding members were quite ahead of their times and that we could still learn a thing or two when we look at our past!
